STIHL Inc. Hosts 5th Annual Manufacturing Technology Summer Camp
Students to build obstacle-avoiding robots, STIHL addresses manufacturing skills gap

WHAT: STIHL Inc. invites you to its 5th annual STIHL Manufacturing Technology Summer Camp (MTSC). Through the camp, the company helps foster the future of manufacturing and gives students hands-on experience in technology-based projects. The camp promotes careers in modern manufacturing and educates young people on both skilled trades and degreed career paths in manufacturing.

This year, high school students across the state of Virginia have the unique opportunity to design and build an obstacle avoiding robot using STIHL
components. During the four-day camp (July 27-30), students will develop insight
into the skills and teamwork necessary to turn raw materials into finished goods
in a competitive manufacturing environment.

On the final day, five teams will participate in a manufacturing competition challenging them to work together to assemble, market and present their finished products to a distinguished panel of judges. Each member of the winning team receives a scholarship of $1,000 and the status of MTSC Champion!
The manufacturing camp is a collaboration between Dream It. Do It. Virginia and STIHL Inc.
